Sounds great? This is what acupressure can do for you, if you know how to apply the pressure the right way.
Acupressure is believed to balance the flow of the chi or vital energy coursing through the body. When the chi gets blocked (due to stress, posture, diet, etc.) the body reacts with pain and tension. By pressing certain key points along the body’s meridians you can unclog the energy and alleviate the symptoms. This can also trigger endorphins which help soothe the pain. Always start by locating the point, then apply pressure to it. Release and press again for 30 seconds. Repeat twice or three times until you feel better.
To get rid of nausea, press a spot on your inner wrist three finger widths above the first wrist crease between the tendons. Press the center of the back of the knee crease to alleviate lower back pain. For headaches press the point at the end of the crease between the thumb and index finger of the left hand.
You can fight tiredness by rubbing the back of your neck at the base of the skull, the webbing between your thumb and index finger and the spot in the middle of the foot. If you suffer from insomnia press the spot between your eyebrows. Fight shoulder tension by pressing the area above the shoulder blade using your index, middle and ring fingers.
